Microglia New Suspect in Gulf War Syndrome
New Suspect in Gulf War Illness 03/03/2010. On February 26, 2010, the Veterans Affairs Department announced that it will re-examine the disability claims of thousands of Persian Gulf War veterans still suffering from the mysterious Gulf War illnesses two decades after the war ended. At a meeting of the Federal Advisory Committee on Gulf War Veteran’s Illnesses held yesterday in Washington, D.C., scientists from around the country presented their latest research to committee members searching for clues to this mysterious illness. Hi, Mike,
First, thank you for this excellent website, and for your volunteer efforts in keeping it current with such great, useful information.
I'm a disabled Gulf War veteran myself, and I'm the only Gulf War veteran to serve on both of the two federal advisory bodies on Gulf War health, including the Research Advisory Committe on Gulf War Veterans' Illnesses (RAC) and the DoD's Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program on Gulf War Illness.
I publish, edit, and write a health website on Gulf War health issues, called 91outcomes (at www.91outcomes.com).
It would be great if you would consider linking to the site.
Additionally, you're quite welcome to republish what I write, as long as you credit 91outcomes and keep a link to the original (like you do already in your current postings).
Again, thank you for all you do!
