New Treatment for Traumatic Spinal Cord Injury
New drug targets for spinal cord injury? 09/21/09. New research, to be published in the Journal of Clinical Investigation, has determined that immune cells known as B cells worsen outcome following traumatic spinal cord injury in mice, indicating that therapeutics that remove B cells or the molecules they produce (antibodies) or that inhibit B cell responses might be of benefit to individuals who experience traumatic spinal cord injury.
