VA Health Care for Women

VA offers health care for women 08/31/08. The Veterans Health Care Act of 1992 enabled VA facilities nationwide to improve drastically their services for women veterans. Its slogan is, “Patriotism knows no gender.” Those services consist of primary care, gynecological care, reproductive and maternity care, patient education, and preventive screenings for breast cancer, cervical cancer and osteoporosis. In addition, counseling and treatment for sexual trauma, substance abuse, depression and post-traumatic-stress disorder is also available. LDNews
